A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen to join our small friendly team at the Westwood Lodge Care Home. We are looking for a talented Kitchen assistant to join our home whom is keen and eager to progress. We are a nursing home supporting adults with mental illness. We pride ourselves in helping people to stay well and live a fulfilling life.
About the Role:
As a kitchen assistant you will be part of the team within the Home providing excellent meals and nutrition to our residents.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities
- Create innovative menus and recipes
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training as needed
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and quality standards
- Manage inventory levels and control food costs
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment
- Collaborate with restaurant management to develop seasonal offerings
Skills and Experience:
Previous experience working within an elderly care setting.
Excellent communication and written skills
Self-motivated, resilient and well-organised
Team player but able to work on your own initiative
Dependable, able to work well under pressure and flexible to meet the needs of the Home
Previous supervisory experience within a care/nursing home setting and experience of working within mental health.
