Our stunning new home Guiseley Manor Care Centre is a purpose-built 72 bed care facility and is situated in the town of Guiseley in the heart of west Yorkshire, Leeds. The home which is due to open around May \xe2\x80\x9823 will provide the highest standards of safety, comfort and care to residents who have a variety of care needs. We offer residential, nursing and dementia care. We invest in the latest technology, and offer a purposeful programme of daily activity and gentle exercise to enhance the experience, care and wellbeing of our residents. All team members are hand selected for their warmth and passion, they have a full induction and ongoing training from our in house trainers in conjunction with the New Care Academy. New Care has had no agency staff use for over 3 years as we employ a permanent staff team to ensure continuity of care to residents from staff that know them and that residents know and trust. Across New Care all of our staff are paid above national living wage.

We are seeking to appoint a kind, caring and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team. To assist with the preparation of meals for residents and external visitors. We have 1 x 35 hours permanent contract available with a competitive salary of \xc2\xa310.75 per hour for all staff regardless of their age! Shift times are 0800-1900 with alternate weekend working. You must be over 18 to apply for this role.

Role Responsibilities:

\xc2\xb7Assist with food preparation and cooking for daily menus as directed by the Head Chef / Assistant Chef.

\xc2\xb7Ensure that all kitchen equipment and kitchen areas are cleaned according to cleaning schedules.

\xc2\xb7Ensure compliance at all times of Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, COSHH and HACCP requirements and legislation.

\xc2\xb7Follow instructions from Head Chef and Chef.

\xc2\xb7Undertake pot washing duties on a daily basis.

Skills and experience required:

\xc2\xb7Previous experience of working in food services is desirable.

\xc2\xb7Experience of working within a busy kitchen environment as part of a team is desirable.

\xc2\xb7Ability to communicate effectively with other team members is essential.

\xc2\xb7A willingness to learn is essential.

\xc2\xb7No formal qualifications are required as we provide training & development in relation to this role.
