Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting our kitchen operations, ensuring that food preparation and meal assembly are carried out efficiently and in accordance with food safety standards. This position is perfect for individuals who have a passion for cooking and wish to develop their skills in a dynamic kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

Assist chefs and cooks in the preparation of ingredients for meals, including washing, chopping, and measuring. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all surfaces are sanitised and tidy. Support the cooking staff during meal preparation by following instructions and recipes accurately. Help with the assembly of dishes for service, ensuring presentation meets our standards. Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene practices at all times. Assist in inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to the kitchen manager. Participate in catering events as required, providing support in food preparation and service.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant or catering environment is preferred but not essential. Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary skills is advantageous. Understanding of food safety practices and regulations. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail. A willingness to learn and develop new culinary skills. Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the kitchen schedule.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 12.45 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 35 per week
