We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. This role is ideal for individuals with an interest in catering, cooking, and food preparation, whether you have prior restaurant experience or are eager to develop your culinary skills. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and excellent service delivery.

Duties

Assist with meal preparation and food safety procedures to ensure hygiene standards are met Support chefs and kitchen staff with food preparation tasks, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients Help with the organisation and cleanliness of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and cleaning surfaces Prepare ingredients for cooking and ensure all items are stored correctly in accordance with food safety regulations Serve meals to customers or staff as required, maintaining a friendly and professional attitude Assist with catering events by setting up food stations and replenishing supplies during service Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to maintain a safe working environment

Requirements

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is advantageous but not essential; enthusiasm to learn is key Basic knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Good organisational skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends or evenings if necessary Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach A genuine interest in culinary arts and food service operations

Pay: 12.21 per hour
