Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our team.

Ideally this would suit a student or someone who is looking for a part time work.

The shifts are over a 4 week periods. Week 1 and 3 is 1 shift per week, week 2 and 4 are 2 shifts per week. There would be over time available to cover holidays or sick time

The successful candidate will support the smooth operation of our kitchen by assisting with meal preparation, food safety, and general kitchen duties. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in catering and culinary environments, contributing to a high standard of service and food quality.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with recipes and safety standards Support the catering team during service periods, ensuring timely delivery of meals Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen work areas, utensils, and equipment Help with washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients as required Follow food safety protocols to ensure hygiene standards are upheld at all times Assist in setting up dining areas and serving food to customers when necessary Support stock management by monitoring supplies and notifying supervisors of shortages or expiry dates

Requirements

Previous experience in catering, restaurant work, or kitchen environments is desirable but not essential Basic cooking and food preparation skills Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Good organisational skills and a team-oriented attitude Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends or evenings if needed A genuine interest in culinary arts and customer service excellence

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.21-13.45 per hour

Expected hours: 7 - 14 per week

Work Location: In person
