Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting kitchen operations, ensuring that food is prepared safely and efficiently. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about food preparation and have a keen interest in the culinary arts.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of meals, ensuring all food safety standards are met. Support chefs and cooks in various kitchen tasks, including chopping, slicing, and cooking ingredients. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes and sanitising work surfaces. Help with catering events by preparing food items as directed by the head chef. Monitor stock levels of ingredients and report any shortages to the kitchen manager. Follow recipes accurately to ensure consistency in meal preparation. Participate in training sessions on food safety and culinary techniques as required.

Experience

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided. Familiarity with catering services and restaurant operations is advantageous. Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is beneficial. A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new skills in meal preparation and culinary techniques is essential. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when necessary.
