Tigers Indoor Play has two very large children's soft play centres based in Kettering & Daventry. We provide our customers at both sites with a huge kids play frame, 4 lane astro slide, go-karts, birthday party rooms and much more. We offer a full menu and beverages served from both of our 5 star food hygiene rated cafes.

We are currently recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant/cook with a passion for great team work to join our crew at our Tigers site in KETTERING.

We are offfering flexible part time,

working every weekend

, and with the opportunity of additional week day shifts, during school holidays, Bank Holidays and be available for staff holiday cover.

In this role, you will be required to prepare and cook food for our customers, you will not be required to make meals from scratch, as we are similar to other fast food outlets, so food preparation has been simplified. This role would involve working day shifts between 10am and 6pm on Saturdays and Sundays, and occasional weekdays, and staff holidays, school holidays and sickness cover.

You MUST HAVE experience of cooking in a commercial kitchen. Full training will be given in all aspects of the role. From our Kitchen Assistant, we expect quality of work whilst maintaining a fast pace during busy times. You must have good hygiene standards, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. At the end of each session, there will be pot wash and kitchen clean down.

You will also be required, during quieter times and between sessions, to assist our team of General Assistants and join them in the cafe, and table clearing.

The key responsibilities of our Kitchen Assistant include:

Preparing and presenting food in line with the current menu Preparation of food including salads, sandwiches, Toasties, Panini's & Jacket Potatoes Assisting with preparation of meals for the children in our party rooms Prepare food in accordance to special dietary requirements Ensure all food in the fridge is covered, rotated, dated and labelled Working with the kitchen team to ensure our customers are presented with their meal to a high standard and on time Accepting, checking and storing of food deliveries from suppliers Maintain and monitor the efficiency of the fridge/freezer by monitoring and recording the temperature to meet food and hygiene requirements General cleaning and tidying of the kitchen and food areas The Kitchen Assistant role involves undertaking duties aimed at providing a clean, tidy and hygienic kitchen environment Understand the principles of safe food handling to ensure all food preparation undertaken in the kitchen is to the highest standards of hygiene You will be required to will also be required to cover holidays & sickness for the other Kitchen Assistants Must be able to work under pressure Must be reliable Good team player Cheerful attitude Willing to undergo further training Experience of working in high volume food service would be advantageous Knowledge and understanding of kitchen health, safety and hygiene rules would be advantageous Holding a relevant food safety qualification would be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided
Hours: From approx 16 per week, with additional shifts available during the week for school holidays and holiday cover.

Salary: From 10:00 to 12.21 per hour depending on age and experience.
