Location: Kingston, Surrey
CHD Living is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated kitchen assistant to support our chef and service users at our care home in Kingston, Surrey, to maintain a high standard of food preparation and cleanliness in the kitchen.
Established in 1984, CHD Living is are a family-owned group of care services in Surrey and South London where we offer person-centred care from a friendly team.
Your role:
Assisting in the preparation of food as directed by the chef.
Maintaining high standards to meet requirements as set out by the Environment Health (EHO), and Food and Safety Act 1990
To be aware of the residents' dietary requirements.
To ensure good standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained throughout the kitchen and associated areas as per legislative and CHD requirements.
To manage related duties such as washing up, setting tables, serving meals and beverages.
To maintain stock control/rotation of stock.
To ensure correct storage of foods including correct temperatures with accurate record keeping.
It would be helpful to have a basic knowledge of food preparation and food hygiene however full training will be given - so we are keen to speak to anyone who likes a kitchen environment, who is interested and passionate about food and who cares about others.
What you will need:
A reliable, happy and caring attitude
Experience in a professional kitchen preferable
Excellent level of written and spoken English
