Overview

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and beverage service, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while ensuring the smooth operation of daily cafe activities.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of food and beverage items, ensuring adherence to food safety standards Operate coffee machines and prepare specialty drinks, showcasing barista skills Assist with food preparation, including assembling sandwiches, salads, and pastries Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the cafe area, including dining spaces and kitchen equipment Provide excellent customer service by taking orders accurately and efficiently Handle cash transactions and perform basic math calculations for order totals Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during peak hours

Requirements

Previous experience in a cafe or food service environment is preferred Knowledge of food safety practices is essential Barista experience is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided Strong serving skills with an emphasis on customer interaction Basic math skills for handling cash and processing payments Excellent time management abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently A friendly disposition with the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment

Weekend Availability - 1 on 1 off on ROTATION

Job Types: Part-time, Temp to perm
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: 10.00-12.21 per hour
