Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of meals, including chopping, slicing, and cooking as directed by the head chef or kitchen supervisor. Support with food preparation tasks, ensuring all ingredients are ready for cooking and serving. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety standards. Help with catering events by preparing dishes according to specific menus and dietary requirements. Serve food to customers in a friendly and efficient manner, ensuring high standards of presentation. Assist in inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to the kitchen supervisor. Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling and kitchen operations.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred, with a background in catering or restaurant settings being advantageous. Basic culinary skills with an understanding of meal preparation techniques. Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene regulations is essential. Ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication skills. A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges within the kitchen. Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the operational needs of the establishment.
