Our tearoom is a key part of the visitor experience, serving freshly prepared food in a relaxed and friendly setting.
We're expanding our catering team and looking for a Kitchen Assistant to help us deliver great food and warm hospitality. Whether you're just starting out or looking for a new opportunity, we'd love to hear from you!
About the Role
As a Kitchen Assistant, you'll be part of a supportive team helping to prepare and serve simple, wholesome meals, snacks, and home baking. You'll assist with keeping the kitchen clean and organised and help make sure everything runs smoothly during busy times.
No formal experience is required, as full training will be provided, and you'll be supported every step of the way. What matters most is a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and being a friendly team player.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with preparing light meals, children's dishes, and baked goods
Help with food presentation and portioning
Support daily kitchen routines including opening, service, and clean-down
Follow food hygiene and safety procedures (training provided)
Keep kitchen areas clean, tidy, and well-stocked
Occasionally help with special events or group catering
Contribute to a warm, welcoming team environment
What We're Looking For
Essential:
A friendly and reliable attitude
Willingness to learn and work as part of a team
Ability to stay calm and focused during busy times
Good communication skills
Desirable (but not required):
Any previous experience in a kitchen, cafe, or hospitality setting
Interest in food, baking, or working with seasonal ingredients
Awareness of food hygiene (we'll help you get certified)

The position is offered on a full time (37 hour) basis, which will include working Saturdays and Sundays. The normal hours of work at 9 to 5.
