Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a desire to learn in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role is essential in supporting our chefs with meal preparation, food safety, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen space. Previous experience in catering or restaurant settings is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking and meal assembly Support chefs with cooking tasks as required, ensuring high standards of food quality Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and utensils Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times Help with the serving of meals during service periods, ensuring timely delivery to customers Participate in inventory management by assisting with stock rotation and storage of food items Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within catering or restaurant settings Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene regulations Basic culinary skills, including meal preparation and cooking techniques Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude A willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks as required Food safety level 2 certification (willing to obtain if not alread)
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Contract length: 2 months

Pay: From 11.50 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 38 per week
