Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will support the kitchen staff in various tasks, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation. This role is perfect for individuals with a passion for food and a desire to learn more about the culinary arts.

Duties

Assist in meal preparation and food preparation tasks, ensuring all ingredients are ready for cooking. Support chefs in cooking and plating dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly. Adhere to food safety standards and regulations to ensure the health and safety of all kitchen staff and guests. Help with catering events as required, including setting up and serving food. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods. Participate in stock management by assisting with inventory checks and reporting any shortages.

Qualifications

Previous kitchen experience or restaurant experience is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key. Knowledge of food safety practices is advantageous. Experience in catering or culinary settings will be considered a plus. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team. A passion for cooking and food preparation is essential, along with a positive attitude towards learning new skills.
