Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team in South Prom Coffee Shop. The days of work would be every Sunday and Thursday or Sunday and Friday. This job is NOT suitable for students!

The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting our chefs and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen. This position is perfect for individuals who have a passion for food preparation and are eager to learn more about the culinary arts within a vibrant kitchen environment.

Duties

Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items. Help with meal preparation by following recipes and instructions from chefs. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring all utensils and equipment are properly cleaned and stored. Adhere to food safety standards and hygiene practices at all times. Support catering events by preparing food items as required. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow during busy periods. Assist in inventory management by reporting stock levels and helping with deliveries.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is advantageous but not essential. Basic knowledge of food safety practices is preferred. A keen interest in culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when required. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation tasks. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends if necessary.

Pay: 11.44-12.22 per hour
