We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality food services. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food preparation and cleaning, and will possess a keen eye for food safety standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a busy kitchen environment, working alongside professional chefs and catering staff.
Preparing breakfast trays for delivery by care staff to residents' rooms.
Preparing Tea/Coffee Trolley - morning and afternoon;
Be aware of the residents dietary requirements and hydration needs
Assisting cooks by washing dishes, preparing vegetables etc
Deep cleaning of kitchen, equipment and storage areas as per the daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedule
Serving meals from kitchen hatch
Cleaning kitchen including work surfaces, appliances, and mopping the floor.
Carrying out safety checks as instructed and tidy kitchen at end of service.
Undertaking any other duties in relation to this post as requested by the Head or Cook in Charge.
Ensuring a consistently high standard of kitchen cleanliness and food preparation
Responsible for the daily use of catering equipment and reporting any defects to the Head Cook/Maintenance person.
Using all equipment and products correctly and in line with COSHH requirements
Ensuring that all deliveries received are correctly placed into fridge/freezers or store areas
Follow all aspects of, and work within, safe working practices as laid down by the Health and Safety at Work Act.
Comply with all relevant regulations and Abbeyfield policies and procedures
Attend staff meetings when appropriate and to be available for one to one sessions as agreed
Attend mandatory and other appropriate training and development sessions
Maintain confidentiality at all times
Be aware of, uphold and promote equal opportunities in service delivery
Any other duties that are reasonably required by management
Stamina and physical fitness to be able to lift, carry and stand for lengthy periods
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: 12.77 per hour
