We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring smooth kitchen operations, adhering to food safety standards, and assisting with meal service.

This will be a term-time position.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients Support the cooking process under supervision, ensuring dishes are prepared efficiently and to standard Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitising surfaces, and disposing of waste appropriately Organise ingredients and supplies to ensure easy access for chefs and kitchen staff Help with serving meals Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations diligently Assist in setting up and clearing down after service periods Support catering events by preparing ingredients and assisting with event-specific requirements To help with kitchen laundry duties

Skills

Previous experience in catering or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential; training will be provided Basic cooking and meal preparation skills Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Good organisational skills with attention to detail Ability to work well within a team and follow instructions accurately Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities during busy service times

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 10.25-12.50 per hour
