We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in meal preparation and food preparation, ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about food safety and have a keen interest in the culinary arts, whether in a restaurant or catering environment.

Responsibilities

Assist in meal preparation and food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, and mixing ingredients. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring all areas are tidy and hygienic. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all kitchen staff and patrons. Support the cooking team during busy service periods by preparing ingredients and assisting with cooking tasks. Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and maintained properly after use. Assist in inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to the head chef.

Experience

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is advantageous but not essential; enthusiasm for culinary arts is highly valued. Familiarity with food safety standards and practices is preferred. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills to collaborate with chefs and other kitchen staff. A willingness to learn new skills related to meal preparation, cooking techniques, and catering operations.
