We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our team. This role is vital in supporting food preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring smooth operations within a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to food safety standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the food industry and develop culinary skills.

The hours for this role are negotiable, but will include weekend work.

Duties

Assist in meal preparation and food assembly according to recipes and standards Handle food safely and maintain proper hygiene practices during all stages of food handling Prepare ingredients using basic knife skills and proper techniques Support kitchen staff with food service, plating, and presentation tasks Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment in compliance with health regulations Assist with catering events and special functions as needed Stock supplies, organize ingredients, and ensure all items are stored correctly Follow all safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment

Experience

Prior experience in a restaurant, catering, or food service environment is preferred but not required Knowledge of cooking techniques, knife skills, and meal preparation is advantageous Familiarity with food handling procedures and food safety standards is highly desirable Experience working in the food industry or culinary setting will be considered a plus Strong organizational skills and ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment Previous kitchen experience demonstrating responsibility for cleanliness and safety practices
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 40 per week
