Duties

Assist with meal preparation by chopping, peeling, measuring, and organizing ingredients according to recipes and standards Support FOH in cooking tasks, including basic food handling and cooking techniques Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards Ensure proper food storage practices are followed, including labeling and rotating stock to prevent spoilage Follow food safety protocols diligently, including proper handwashing, sanitation procedures, and temperature controls Assist in inventory management by receiving deliveries, checking supplies, and notifying supervisors of shortages Support the team during busy periods by efficiently managing multiple tasks while maintaining a positive attitude

Skills

Proven experience or interest in cooking and food preparation within a restaurant or catering environment Strong knife skills for chopping, slicing, dicing, and other basic cutting techniques Knowledge of meal preparation processes and food handling safety standards Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail Familiarity with food service operations and customer-focused service skills Understanding of kitchen safety procedures and proper sanitation practices Experience in the food industry or culinary experience is highly desirable Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive approach to supporting colleagues during high-volume periods

Pay: From 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 40 per week
