Night Shift Kitchen Assistant (Part-Time)

12:30 am to 10:30 am

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and reliable night shift kitchen assistant to operate independently during overnight hours. This role is responsible for baking pastries and preparing a full English continental breakfast setup, ensuring a smooth, on-time morning service and consistent quality for guests.

Key Responsibilities

Bake and finish pastries such as croissants, muffins, and other baked goods in line with pre-set recipes and standards. Prepare, portion, and present English continental breakfast items including pastries, bread, fruits, cereals, yoghurts, cold cuts, cheeses, and basic accompaniments. Ensure all breakfast items are prepared, displayed, and ready before morning service deadlines. Operate kitchen equipment (ovens, mixers, etc.) safely and efficiently, following operational procedures. Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and food safety at all times. Monitor stock levels, manage ingredients, and ensure correct storage and rotation of supplies. Complete full kitchen clean-down and reset at the end of the shift to ensure handover readiness.

Skills and Qualifications

Proven experience in a kitchen or bakery environment is essential. Solid knowledge and hands-on experience with English continental breakfast preparation. Ability to work independently during night shifts with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and operational instructions. Good working knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards. Effective time management skills to meet fixed breakfast service deadlines. Working knowledge of English sufficient to understand instructions, food safety requirements, and basic workplace communication.
