We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in various kitchen tasks, ensuring that food preparation and meal assembly run smoothly. This role is vital in maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene while supporting our chefs in delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking and meal assembly.
Help with the cooking process under the guidance of chefs, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene practices to ensure a safe working environment.
Support catering events by preparing meals and assisting with service as required.
To assist the cook to ensure stock levels are maintained.
To assist care staff with serving food and drinks for residents
Skills
Familiarity with food safety standards and practices is essential.
Previous experience in a kitchen environment, ideally in a care setting
Training and knowledge around different food textures for residents with feeding limitations
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
A proactive attitude towards helping others and contributing positively to the kitchen atmosphere.
