Overview


We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic team in a vibrant award winning hospitality environment. You will be working within a small team with a massive family feel. We all support one another and work closely with the chef owner to maintain our high standards. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring that the kitchens cleanliness is maintained and taking on preparation duties to help the kitchen run efficiently. If you do not have cheffing experience but would like to learn, this would be the perfect role for you to learn these skills whilst you work. You will be washing dishes and cleaning the kitchen. Helping in service when the kitchen team needs support. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about hospitality and are eager to learn and grow within the industry. You will be expected to handle vegetable prep, knife skills are preferable but can be taught.

Requirement is to work Wednesday - Saturday, 4 days a week morning and evening with a break in the middle of the day (split shift pattern). With 1 additional Sunday per month.

You will have guaranteed 3 days off per week. Additionally you will have Christmas Eve, Christmas Day & Boxing Day off as we close those days to enjoy with family.

Duties



Assist with food preparation and basic cooking tasks as directed by the head chef. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, pots, and utensils. Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and sanitised regularly. Help with the storage of food supplies and ingredients, ensuring proper stock rotation. Support chefs during busy service periods by providing assistance where needed. Adhere to health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Assist in receiving deliveries and organising stock in the kitchen area.

Qualifications



Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality setting is preferable but not essential. A keen interest in culinary arts and food preparation is expected. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail. Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards learning. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends as required. Food - Health & Safety Level 2 qualification is preferential but not essential. We would consider a keen apprentice wanting to work towards qualifications.
