4 weekdays of your choice (excluding Tuesdays):

6:00 AM - 10:00 AM

Saturdays:

8:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Role Overview



Pinc Shop & Cafe Cyf. is looking for a motivated and passionate

Kitchen Assistant

to join our vibrant team in the heart of Treforest. This is a hands-on role perfect for someone who loves creating delicious breakfast bites and baked treats in a friendly, community-based cafe environment. We are a new cafe and an exciting new venture for someone who is looking for a new challenge!

Key Responsibilities



Food Preparation & Cooking:



Prepare and cook a variety of hot and cold breakfast and lunch items including baguettes, toasties, breakfast baps, pastries, and cakes. Work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure food orders are prepared to high standards and in a timely manner.

Food Hygiene & Safety:



Maintain exceptional cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen at all times. Adhere strictly to food hygiene regulations and best practices in line with UK food safety laws. Ensure proper storage of ingredients and cooked food items, including stock rotation and temperature checks.

Stock Management:



Carry out regular stock takes. Monitor inventory levels and place orders as required to avoid shortages and wastage.

Creativity & Innovation:



Bring fresh ideas and contribute to developing new menu items. Collaborate with the cafe manager and team to trial seasonal or themed specials. Work with volunteers to do baking and food prep.

Ideal Candidate



Previous experience in a cafe, bakery or kitchen environment preferred. A valid Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain one). Passion for food, with a creative flair and pride in presentation. Strong understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety protocols. Reliable, punctual, and capable of working early morning shifts. Friendly and adaptable team player with a positive attitude. Experience in working with individuals with autism and learning disabilities.
