We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality food services. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a keen eye for food safety standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a dynamic kitchen environment, working alongside professional chefs and catering staff. The Kitchen Assistant will play a vital part in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and contributing to the overall dining experience.
Responsibilities
Assist with meal preparation and food assembly, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards
Support chefs with basic cooking tasks and ingredient organisation
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing utensils, equipment, and work surfaces
Help with food safety practices, including proper storage and handling of ingredients
Prepare ingredients for cooking, such as chopping vegetables or portioning ingredients as directed
Serve food to staff or customers as required, ensuring presentation standards are met
Follow health and safety regulations at all times to maintain a safe working environment
Support catering events by setting up tables, serving dishes, and clearing after service
Qualifications
Previous experience in catering, restaurant work, or food preparation is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen procedures
Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Willingness to learn new skills and work as part of a team
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within the kitchen setting
