Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality food services. The successful candidate will play a vital role in meal preparation, food safety, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in catering, cooking, and restaurant operations within a professional setting. Prior kitchen or culinary experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with established recipes and standards Support the catering team during events and service periods, ensuring timely delivery of dishes Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment in compliance with food safety regulations Organise ingredients and supplies to ensure smooth kitchen operations Help with basic cooking tasks under supervision, learning techniques and best practices from experienced chefs Ensure proper storage of perishable items and monitor stock levels for replenishment Serve food to customers or staff as required, ensuring presentation standards are met Follow health and safety procedures diligently to uphold a safe working environment

Qualifications

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is advantageous but not mandatory Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices Basic understanding of meal preparation and food handling techniques Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude Willingness to learn new skills within a fast-paced culinary setting Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends or evenings if necessary
