Key Responsibilities: Kitchen Assistant Duties for School Catering

Support the chef team with food preparation for nutritious, balanced meals suitable for children and young people Assist in serving meals in a friendly and efficient manner Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness at all times, including washing up, sanitizing surfaces, and waste management Follow strict food hygiene and health & safety procedures, complying with school and regulatory standards Ensure allergen and dietary requirements are followed as directed by kitchen management Help receive and store deliveries, rotating stock as needed Work collaboratively with kitchen colleagues and school staff to ensure a smooth meal service Undertake any other duties as required to support the running of the school kitchen

Requirements: Kitchen Assistant Jobs in Halifax

Previous experience in a kitchen, catering, or hospitality environment preferred but not essential Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or willingness to obtain (desirable) Awareness of allergens and food safety (training will be provided if needed) Enhanced DBS check will be required for this role (we can assist with this) Ability to work efficiently, both independently and as part of a team Positive attitude, reliability, and strong communication skills
