Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring that all food safety standards are met. Duties

Assist in the preparation of meals by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients as required. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen workspace, including washing dishes and utensils. Ensure that all food safety and hygiene standards are adhered to during food preparation and storage. Help with the setup and breakdown of catering events as needed. Support chefs in cooking tasks and meal preparation during busy service periods. Assist with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to the kitchen manager. Participate in training sessions to improve culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices.

Skills

Previous experience in a restaurant or catering environment is advantageous but not essential. Basic cooking skills with a willingness to learn more advanced culinary techniques. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy kitchen setting. Excellent communication skills, working well as part of a team to ensure smooth kitchen operations. DBS needs to be on the update service.

Pay: From 12.21 per hour
