Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a desire to contribute to a vibrant kitchen environment. This role is essential in supporting our chefs with meal preparation, food safety, and ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly. Previous experience in catering or restaurants is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of meals and ingredients, ensuring all food is prepared to the highest standards. Support chefs during service by preparing garnishes, sauces, and other components as required. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes and sanitising work areas. Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times. Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting any shortages. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during busy periods. Assist in catering events as needed, contributing to menu planning and execution.

Requirements

Previous kitchen experience or culinary training is preferred but not essential. A basic understanding of food safety practices and regulations. Experience in meal preparation and food preparation techniques is advantageous. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude. A willingness to learn and adapt within a dynamic kitchen setting. Catering or restaurant experience will be considered a plus.
