Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will support the culinary operations by assisting with meal preparation, food safety, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in catering and restaurant settings, contributing to the delivery of high-quality food services. The Kitchen Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and delivering exceptional service to our clients.

This work is for every weekend from 9am till 5:30pm both Saturdays and Sundays!

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring all meals are prepared efficiently and to standard. Support the catering team in organising ingredients, utensils, and equipment needed for daily operations. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitising surfaces, and disposing of waste appropriately. Follow food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times to ensure a safe environment for staff and customers. Help with serving food during meal times, ensuring prompt and courteous service. Assist with inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying supervisors of replenishment needs. Support the team during special events or catering functions as required.

Qualifications

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is preferred but not essential. Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is advantageous. Basic cooking skills and familiarity with meal preparation techniques are desirable. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy kitchen setting. Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork. Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary arts and food service operations. Pay: 13.50-14.50 per hour
