Job Description

STEPS is a purpose-built 23-bedroom, unique rehabilitation facility, able to deliver high-quality care from a range of medical and rehabilitation specialists on Abbeydale Road, Sheffield. It is a unique environment that provides rehabilitation to clients who have suffered serious injuries and debilitating neurological illnesses.

STEPS has been designed to feel non-clinical, comfortable and homely and we hope you will agree STEPS is like no other care facility you will have worked in. Our specialists work collaboratively under one roof and clients can access a wide range of therapies and specialist robotic and VR rehabilitation equipment. You will be working within our interdisciplinary team comprised of Consultants in rehabilitation medicine; spinal injuries, amputations, anaesthetics, plastic surgery and pain management, physiotherapists; occupational therapists; speech and language therapists; neuro-psychologists; neurologic music therapist; prosthetic and orthotic specialists and amongst other nurses experienced in complex care. Role Summary

To work in the kitchen alongside the Chefs to provide support with cleaning.

15 hours per week, including weekends on a rota basis. Our kitchen is open from 7am to 7pm and you will either work a 7am-3pm shift or 11am-7pm shift.

To provide high quality service to our clients, aligned with STEPS values and behaviours and working as a key member of the inter-disciplinary team.

Specific Responsibilities

To carry out all cleaning duties allocated to you in accordance with the cleaning schedules and standards, as directed by the Head Chef. Ensure all orders are put away promptly and stock is rotated Pot washing To dispose of all refuse carefully To keep the cafe area stocked with supplies, clean and tidy. To keep the cafe area clean and tidy at all times Serving in the cafe during mealtimes
Person Specification

Essential

GCSE level education Excellent organisational skills, Ability to follow operational procedures and practices. Clear awareness and understanding of excellent customers services Experience of working in a commercial kitchen environment Excellent communicator both written and verbal / demonstrate excellent listening skills Can work under pressure and use your own initiative Able to form key working relationships with colleagues, understand the dynamics of team working
Desirable

Level 1 food and hygiene Previous experience in a Clinical Facility
