We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations, ensuring that food preparation is executed efficiently and safely. Duties

Assist in meal preparation by chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients, and assembling dishes as directed by the head chef or kitchen manager. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health regulations. Help with the cleaning and organisation of kitchen equipment and utensils to maintain a tidy workspace. Support catering events by preparing food items and assisting with service as required. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of meals during service hours. Perform basic cooking tasks under supervision, including cooking simple dishes or side items. Assist in inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to the kitchen manager.

Skills

Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential for maintaining a safe kitchen environment. Previous experience in a culinary setting, such as restaurants or catering services, is advantageous but not mandatory. Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy kitchen atmosphere. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated when required. Basic culinary skills, including food preparation techniques and an understanding of cooking methods. DBS needs to be on the update service.

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: From 12.21 per hour
