We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining an efficient kitchen environment. This role involves assisting with food preparation, ensuring food safety standards are met, and supporting the overall operation of the kitchen. The ideal candidate will have a passion for catering and cooking, with previous restaurant or kitchen experience being advantageous. Duties

Assist with meal preparation and food assembly in accordance with recipes and standards Support the cleaning and organisation of kitchen equipment and workspaces Help with food safety procedures, including proper storage and handling of ingredients Prepare ingredients for cooking, including peeling, chopping, and measuring Support serving staff during meal service periods as required Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the kitchen, including washing dishes and utensils Assist with inventory management by organising stock and notifying supervisors of low supplies Follow health and safety regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment

Skills

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable Knowledge of food preparation techniques and meal assembly processes Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Good organisational skills with attention to detail Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team Basic culinary skills such as chopping, mixing, and basic cooking techniques are advantageous Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within the kitchen setting

Pay: 12.21-13.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
