Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring that all food safety standards are met. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about cooking and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Duties



Assist with food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients for meals. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment by washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly. Support cooks in meal preparation by providing necessary ingredients and equipment as required. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times. Help with the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations during service periods. Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during busy service times.

More Specific duties include:



Operate the pass, reading incoming orders and communicating them to the team, Plating orders to be sent out, Making sandwiches, salads and paninis, Heating hot meals to order,

Skills



Proficient in food preparation techniques and basic cooking skills. Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils. Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations. Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail. Willingness to learn new culinary skills and techniques. Previous experience in a restaurant or catering setting is advantageous but not essential.
The Candidate;

Must have an ability to work calmly and precisely in a hot, fast paced environment,

Must really want to be a part of the team,

Kitchen experience would be preferred but training will be provided. Must be reliable and trustworthy.

Must be available to work Tuesday to Sunday on a rota basis (daytime hours only).

Minimum of 16 hours per week (likely to be more to cover holidays etc).

Weekly pay (depending on age/experience/ability) and equal share of tips.

Immediate start available. All successful applicants must complete some paid trial shifts as part of the interview process and if successful, will have a 3 month probation period.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 10.00-12.25 per hour
