: Kitchen Assistant

Job Purpose:

Carrying out all kitchen duties as designated by the Head Chef.

Operational Duties and Responsibilities:

Clean kitchen in accordance with cleaning schedule Carry out kitchen cleaning as specified by Head Chef Ensure that all floor and wall surfaces are kept clean as directed Ensure that stores are kept clean and tidy Assist with meal service as required Assist with meal preparation Wash up all dirty crockery, cutlery, trays, and other kitchen equipment as required Attend and complete all statutory training and updates, i.e.: Fire Regulations, Health & Safety, Handling & Moving, Food Hygiene Comply with all statutory requirements Report all potential and actual kitchen risks and hazards to the Head Cook / Matron

Personal

Ensure that uniform, footwear and personal hygiene are of the highest standards at all times

General

Suggest areas for improvement in the delivery of kitchen service Take corrective action as required Carry out any other reasonable instructions requested by the Head Chef and company in respect of your employment

Job Specific Duties: Kitchen Assistant

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Basic Food Hygiene Certificate Required and Cookery Experience Preferred. Knowledge of COSHH & Health & Safety would be an advantage.
