We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of meals, including chopping, slicing, and cooking ingredients as directed by the head chef or kitchen manager. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly. Support the catering team during events by preparing food items and setting up serving areas. Ensure adherence to food safety standards and hygiene regulations at all times. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service and efficient workflow. Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to the kitchen manager. Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques.

Skills

Previous experience in a kitchen environment or restaurant is preferred. Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in meal preparation and presentation. Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within the kitchen. A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new culinary techniques. Experience in catering or large-scale meal preparation is advantageous but not mandatory.
