We are currently recruiting for a reliable and self-motivated

Kitchen Assistant

to be part of our team at Ashmere Nottinghamshire.

With an overall rating of Good from CQC following a recent inspection.

Ashmere Nottinghamshire is a family run company established over 30 years ago. Our three residential homes provide a homely environment for elderly residential residents in Sutton in Ashfield. All our pet friendly homes are of the highest quality rating.

Ashmere is very much part of the community and most of our residents have previously lived locally. The three homes welcome elderly residential and early stages of dementia.

We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to work:

3/4 days on a rota from 10.00am - 6.00pm (hours are negotiable)

It is essential that you have previous experience of working in a commercial kitchen, duties will include preparation of meals and clearing away. A good rapport with the elderly is essential.

Must have undertaken work of a similar nature and experience of working with elderly is an advantage. Must be committed to high standards of customer care, be able to work as part of a team and with friendly, caring nature.

To help cook and serve meals, asking service users what they would like, offering them a choice, support with preparation, serving drinks and snacks and meals to service users then collect cups etc. Set tables in the dining room for tea, maintain own hygiene standards to the homes policy and food hygiene standards, clean wash and dry by hand all pots pans etc that are too large and bulky to put in the dishwasher.

Make sure all work surfaces are cleaned daily and all other areas are cleaned once a week for example cleaning the fridges, make sure all hard floors are mopped after each shift plus once a week, use the hard floor machine, load and unload the dishwasher, ensure that when in charge of the kitchen that the homes policies in relation to the preparation and serving of foods is complied with at all times.

Specifically to ensure that the monitored plate system (blue plate system) is closely followed and that all food prepared and served is in accordance with the details provided on the blue plate instruction sheet displayed in the kitchen.

Pay: 12.30 per hour
