We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality food services. The successful candidate will assist with meal preparation, food safety, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in catering and restaurant settings, contributing to a smooth-running kitchen operation.
Responsibilities
Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with established recipes and standards
Support cooking activities under supervision, ensuring timely delivery of meals
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen areas, including washing dishes, utensils, and surfaces
Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
Help with stock rotation and inventory management of ingredients and supplies
Serve food to customers or staff in a courteous and professional manner
Assist with setting up dining areas for service and clearing after meals
Follow health and safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents or contamination
Requirements
Previous experience in catering, restaurant work, or food preparation is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
Basic understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues
Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary arts and kitchen operations
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends or evenings if necessary
A positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic are essential for success in this role
