to join our team at The Athenian. As a key part of our kitchen operations, you'll support in preparing food, maintaining hygiene standards, and keeping the kitchen running smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes in a fast-paced, food-focused environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare, cook, and present food according to our recipes and quality standards.
Manage kitchen operations during your shift.
Ensure food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness standards are upheld at all times.
Set up and close down the kitchen, including cleaning equipment and surfaces.
Monitor inventory and inform the manager of low stock or supply needs.
Maintain clear communication with front-of-house staff for smooth service.
Assist with packing and handing over food orders during busy periods.
Qualifications
Experience in a kitchen or takeaway environment (preferred but not essential).
Confidence in working independently and taking ownership of the kitchen.
Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
Ability to stay calm and efficient under pressure.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and peak hours.
