Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a willingness to learn, assisting in various culinary tasks to ensure smooth operations. This role is essential in supporting our chefs and kitchen staff in food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to food safety standards.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring. Support chefs in meal preparation by following recipes and instructions accurately. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and utensils. Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are met consistently. Help with the setup and breakdown of catering events as required. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently under supervision.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is advantageous but not essential; a willingness to learn is key. Basic knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques. Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate clearly with colleagues. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed. A genuine interest in cooking and the culinary arts.
