Sadlers Restaurant is a British Modern concept located in the heart of Wells, in the peaceful heritage courtyard offering our customers outstanding food, customer service within a relaxed atmosphere.
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations by assisting with meal preparation, food handling, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about food and eager to develop their skills in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Duties
Assist in the preparation of ingredients for meals, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
Support chefs and cooks in cooking tasks, ensuring that all food is prepared according to recipes and standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and equipment.
Follow food safety protocols to ensure the health and safety of all kitchen staff and patrons.
Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies as needed.
Participate in catering events as required, ensuring that all food service meets quality expectations.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during busy service periods.
Requirements
Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen setting is preferred.
Strong cooking skills with an emphasis on knife skills and meal preparation techniques.
Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
A passion for the culinary arts and eagerness to learn from experienced chefs.

Working Hours: Wednesday to Sunday.
Wednesday to Saturday: 1.30pm - 10pm with one hour lunch and meal.
Sunday 9am-5pm with 30 minute lunch and meal.
Reporting to Head Chef.
