We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. at Winton House. Winton house is a 34 bed residential care home in the heart of Windsor.
The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting meal preparation and ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly. This position is perfect for individuals passionate about food and eager to gain experience in a professional kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of meals, ensuring that all ingredients are prepped according to recipes and standards.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
Support chefs with various cooking tasks, including chopping, mixing, and cooking basic dishes.
Help with the organisation of kitchen supplies and equipment, ensuring everything is clean and in its designated place.
Participate in catering events as needed, providing assistance with food setup and service.
Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces regularly to maintain a safe working environment.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during busy periods.
Experience
Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm for culinary arts is essential.
Basic knowledge of food safety practices is advantageous.
Familiarity with meal preparation techniques will be beneficial.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
