Overview

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about food, catering, and hospitality to develop their skills within a professional environment. The successful candidate will support the kitchen operations by assisting with meal preparation, food safety, and maintaining a clean and organised workspace. Prior experience in a restaurant or catering setting is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.

Duties

Assist in food preparation and meal assembly according to established recipes and standards Support the catering team in preparing ingredients and organising kitchen supplies Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all kitchen activities Help with cleaning and sanitising kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces Serve meals to customers or staff in a courteous and efficient manner Assist with stock control, including receiving deliveries and storing ingredients appropriately Support the team during busy periods by ensuring smooth kitchen operations Follow health and safety regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment

Qualifications

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable but not mandatory Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices Basic cooking skills and familiarity with meal preparation techniques Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team Strong organisational skills with attention to detail Good communication skills and a friendly attitude towards colleagues and customers Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends or evenings if necessary
