Job Summary

Main purpose of role:

To assist the cook with the preparation and serving of meals

10am to 1:30pm week Monday - Friday (some flexibility in hours).

Specific responsibilities:

Food Preparation

:

? Washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables.

? Measuring ingredients.

? Assisting with cooking tasks.

? Prepare meals and provide cover, in the cooks absence (during annual leave, or sickness)

Cleaning and Sanitising

:

? Washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.

? Cleaning kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas.

? Disposing of kitchen waste and recycling where applicable.

Stock Management:

? Unpacking and storing food deliveries.

? Rotating stock to ensure older items are used first

? Alerting cook or Service Leads when supplies are low.

Health and Safety Compliance:

? Following hygiene and food safety guidelines, for example cleaning schedule, food temperature records etc.)

? Wearing appropriate PPE (e.g., gloves, appropriate haircover).

? Reporting to Cook, equipment malfunctions.

? Report and record significant matters such as incidents and accidents as they arise, in accordance with Myriad policy and procedure.

? Attend and participate in staff meetings if necessary - and attend mandatory or relevant training courses as they are required/made available.

Support During Service:

? Assisting Cook during busy periods (e.g., plating dishes).

? Refilling ingredients or prep stations.

? Delivering food to the serving area or pass.

Laundry:

? Manage the laundry of items associated with lunchtime, such as clothes protectors, tea towels and towels.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: Up to 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 18 per week

Schedule:

Monday to Friday No weekends
