Duties
Assist in food preparation, including chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients for meals.
Support chefs and cooks in the kitchen with meal preparation tasks as required.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
Ensure that all food safety and hygiene standards are adhered to at all times.
Help with the setup and breakdown of catering events when necessary.
Assist in inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to the kitchen manager.
Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices.
Requirements
Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is desirable but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary terminology is an advantage.
Understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene practices is preferred.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy kitchen setting.
Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
