Job Summary - Kitchen Assistant/Chef (this is not a kitchen porter role) This role is to assist and to be apart of our kitchen team.

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a keen interest in creating delicious meals that meet our high standards of quality and presentation. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menus, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation. Assist in the planning and preparation of meals, including portion control and ingredient selection. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene practices in accordance with health regulations. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and efficient workflow during busy periods. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, assisting with ordering as necessary. Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to ensure a safe working environment.

Skills

Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant setting. Strong culinary skills with the ability to prepare meals efficiently. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for food preparation. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail, ensuring all dishes are prepared to the highest standard. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and contribute positively to the kitchen atmosphere.
