We are seeking someone to support our Chef, to help ensure that our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of food safety practices and an interest in catering. You will play a vital role in helping maintain our high standards. This position is perfect for individuals who thrive in a kitchen environment and are eager to contribute to a dynamic team.
Responsibilities
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen to the highest standard.
Manage the pot wash area to ensure crockery and utensils are clean and re-stocked.
Clean down the kitchen at the end of the shift.
Assist the Chef with basic food preparation for functions and busy day to day service and from time to time, prepare and lead on the delivery of basic menu items.
Comply with food handling and hygiene standards.
Flexible to assist in other departments and cover days off when required.
Requirements

Qualified to Food Hygiene Level 2 (preferred but not essential, as training can be given).
Basic knowledge of health and safety practices.
Ability to work effectively and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
A strong interest or previous experience in catering.
A team player with a good sense of humour.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
