We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook/kitchen assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role requires a strong understanding of food preparation and safety standards, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Duties
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.
Assist in meal preparation, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and properly stored.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including all cooking utensils and equipment.
Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service and quality of food.
Help in the development of new menu items and culinary techniques.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, notifying management when stock needs replenishing.
Experience
Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential.
A background in culinary arts or food preparation is advantageous.
Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is required.
Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude towards helping others in the kitchen environment.
