Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking

Kitchen Assistant / Cook

to join our team at our authentic Taiwanese restaurant. The ideal candidate will assist in daily kitchen operations, with a strong focus on plating and food preparation, quality control, and efficient packing of takeaway orders. This is a hands-on role requiring attention to detail, cleanliness, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Plating and packing takeaway orders

with accuracy and consistency, ensuring presentation aligns with company standards

Preparing ingredients

including washing, chopping, and portioning vegetables and meat

Assisting with cooking tasks

under the supervision of senior kitchen staff as needed

Maintaining food quality

and ensuring every dish meets the restaurant's taste, portion, and appearance standards Following all

food safety and hygiene regulations

, maintaining a clean and organized work station Supporting the kitchen team during busy periods and helping with dishwashing or cleaning duties as required Reporting any issues with food quality, kitchen equipment, or inventory shortages to the Head Chef or Supervisor

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role preferred (experience with Taiwanese or Asian cuisine is a plus) Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Basic knife skills and knowledge of food handling and hygiene practices Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high food standards Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as needed

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 45 per week
