Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and mature Kitchen Assistant/Cook to join our team.

2 set shifts per week which include every Sunday and either a Thursday or Friday!

The ideal candidate will have an interest in cooking and in food preparation and be keen to develop their skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality meals. As a Kitchen Assistant/Cook, you will play a vital role in our kitchen, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to perfection while maintaining a clean and organised work environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and menu specifications. Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices. Assist in the planning and preparation of menus, taking into account dietary restrictions and preferences. Maintain an organised kitchen workspace, ensuring all utensils and equipment are clean and in good working order. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service and high-quality presentation of dishes. Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages to management.

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant or commercial kitchen environment is preferred. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in culinary arts. Proven ability in meal preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation skills. Familiarity with various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new dishes is highly desirable.
