Kitchen Assistant & Driver (Part-/Full-Time)

Permanent role

Location: Chessington

Hours: 25-40 hours/week (with potential to increase to 25-45 hours/week for the right person)

Role Overview

We are seeking a dependable Kitchen Assistant & Driver to join our small catering team. This is a hands-on, practical role that combines kitchen support with daily delivery work, and provides the opportunity, for those interested, to assist occasionally with market stall operations.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients (washing, chopping, portioning), assist with basic food production and order preparation. ? Pack customer orders carefully, ensuring accuracy and adherence to hygiene and storage protocols. Load, transport and deliver goods and orders; handle loading/unloading safely and maintain basic vehicle and delivery standards. Maintain a clean, organised kitchen environment; follow all food safety and hygiene standards. ? Assist with any other general kitchen duties as required by the team -- including dish washing, basic cleaning, and stock rotation. ?
Essential Requirements

Full, clean UK driving licence (required due to delivery duties) -- driving licence is non-negotiable. Strong communication skills and team-spirit. Ability to closely follow instructions from other team members. Good presentation, reliability, punctuality and a responsible work ethic. Physical fitness and ability to lift, carry and handle deliveries and kitchen equipment as necessary. Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced kitchen environment, with good organisational skills and attention to detail. ?
Desirable Skills / Additional Qualities (but not compulsory)

Previous experience working in a kitchen, catering or food-service environment. Interest in cooking and the food business ? Awareness or training in food safety and hygiene (e.g. Level 2 Food Safety qualification). ? Flexibility to work some weekends / possibly extra time / evening work (not essential) Optional Market Stall Involvement (Not essential)
From time to time - for those interested - you may be asked to help with market stall operations on Saturdays: setting up the stall, serving customers, sales, and takedown. This is offered as a potential bonus-earning opportunity, but is not a core requirement of the role.
